Government-owned telco Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has introduced a prepaid plan at Rs 199. The plan comes as part of a Christmas offer and will go into effect from December 24, 2020. BSNL is also withdrawing a special tariff voucher that came at Rs 186 with 2GB daily data from January 1. Now, telecom companies like Airtel, Vi, and Jio have been offering prepaid plans at Rs 199. However, the benefits of the prepaid plans are different. Let us have a look at these plans.

BSNL Rs 199 prepaid plan: The Rs 199 prepaid plan with a month’s validity, that is 30 days, will offer 2GB daily data and calling benefits with a FUP limit of 250 minutes. The telco will launch the prepaid plan on December 24, 2020, on the occasion of Christmas.

Airtel Rs 199 prepaid plan: Airtel offers 1GB daily data with Rs 199 prepaid plan. This plan has a validity of 24 days and offers unlimited calls and 100 SMS per day. The plan also offers free Hellotunes, Wynk music, and access to Airtel XStream.

Vi Rs 199 prepaid plan: Vi offers similar benefits to Airtel with its Rs 199 prepaid plan. The benefits include unlimited local and national calls to all networks and 1GB daily data. The plan has a validity of 24 days. The plan gives access to Vi Movies and TV.

Jio Rs 199 prepaid plan: The plan offers 1.5GB daily data for 28 days. The plan gives unlimited calling for Jio to Jio calls and with 100 minutes FUP for Jio to non-Jio numbers.

Having a look at the above-stated plan, one can conclude that Airtel and Vi offer only 1GB daily data for a lesser validity as compared to BSNL and Jio. However, the telcos offer unlimited calls with these plans. Coming to Jio, the telco offers 1.5GB daily data that is valid for 28 days. Off-net calls in Jio have a FUP limit of 100 minutes.

If one were to overlook the speed, BSNL offers data benefits of 2GB daily data with 30 days validity with its newly introduced prepaid plan. As part of its Christmas offer, BSNL is also giving 3GB daily data on its Rs 998 prepaid plan for 90 days, which otherwise gives 2GB daily data for 240 days validity. These offers by BSNL will go live on December 24, 2020.
